hold puppy gently

After every feeding, if the mother is not cleaning the puppy, one needs to
step in and stimulate the puppy to have a bowel movement. Occasionally, if the
puppy is not being cleaned the feces can adhere the tail to the rectum area
together; hence, causing the puppy pain on its next bowel movement, due
to the blockage. Running warm water on the tail area will soften/dissolve the
dried feces.
